Scotts Head is a small coastal village nestled in a very picturesque part of the NSW coastline,
midway between Coffs Harbour & Kempsey.
It stretches from Wakki Beach in the south through to Main Beach, which reaches all the way to Nambucca Heads, 10 kilometres to the north. It gains its character from having several small beaches, and rocky headlands as well as the main beach, all within easy walking distance from the surrounding residential areas. As well as the beaches is the added bonus of Warrell Creek, which is accessible from the western side of Scotts Head, and it runs parallel to the beach, to enter the Nambucca River just before it reaches the sea.

Climatically, Scotts Head is idyllic. During summer, the coastal nor’easters keep the temperature below
30 degrees C, with water temperatures usually in the low to mid 20’s. The water temperature
reaches a civilised level from mid November and maintains this through till April-May. Winters are
very mild with coldest evening minimums of 3-5 degrees & maximums above 14-19 degrees.

Scotts Head currently has a population around 900, probably less than half of these being permanent.
Most of the houses have been built in the past twenty years, with many current new buildings displaying
unique & beachy characteristics.

The beaches are excellent for surfing. Main Beach has a sought after surf off the point for boardies,
through to its very sheltered southern corner, ideal for toddlers, young children and beginners. It is
patrolled during summer holidays and weekends. The surf club overlooks both Main Beach and Little
Beach and there are numerous beautiful picnic areas, barbeques, shelters and children’s playground
beneath the large shady trees behind the dunes.
